A community memorial program for 9-11 is set for 12 noon Friday, Sept. 9, at the base of the Flag of Freedom Memorial on the Missouri Southern State University campus oval, according to an MSSU press release.
Firemen and policemen and members of other rescue units will be recognized, the release said. The speaker will be Michael Banes, chaplain for the Redings Mill Fire Protection District. The Southern Concert Chorale and Chamber Choir will perform. The event will feature a moment of silence.
