Podcast: Sen. Dan Brown explains bill to require first graders to undergo NRA training

In this podcast, Sen. Dan Brown, R-Rolla, explains his bill requiring all Missouri first graders to take the NRA's Eddie Eagle training, (which is mentioned specifically in the legislation) or a similar program. The bill was prefiled the day before the murders at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Brown says his primary performance in filing SB 75 is to "get the conversation started."

Brown, a longtime NRA proponent, says that even if guns are outlawed, they will be around for a long time and there are other ways to "wreak havoc" at an elementary school, including using sticks or knives.
